General Inventory

This module provides additional functions in order processing to keep your inventory under control and to make processing orders for stock that you sell from your warehouse easier.  General Inventory is designed for selling stock items from your warehouse to any customer that requests them.  It is not designed to process customer specific items or control releases of customer owned stock from your warehouse.

General Inventory and Order Entry - With few exceptions, the entry and management of General Inventory will be controlled through Order Entry.  As we proceed through this section, we will revisit areas of Xebra that you should already be familiar with and introduce you to features within those areas that are integral to the development and management of General Inventory.

General Inventory and Accounting - Certain aspects of General Inventory can have significant impact on accounting practices.  While daily maintenance of General Inventory (i.e. entering and relieving inventory) will not require accounting actions or knowledge, it is very important that anyone involved in your organization's bookkeeping be informed as to the causes and effects involved with it and the tasks required by them to accurately adjust and portray accounting reports.

Note:  It is imperative that you have a complete understanding of Order Entry processes before approaching General Inventory.  If you have not done so, please review Order Entry I and II before proceeding.
