Entering Existing Inventory |

If you are converting from another system or from a manual inventory system, you need to enter your beginning inventory balances using manual activity entries. For this example, we will enter initial inventory for an item that already exists in the item description file. Select View > Inventory Inquiry from the Order Entry Node window. Enter 9511WP<Tab> for the Item. The Inventory window will display with zero values and nothing in the list of balances. Select Commands > New Activity from the menu bar on the Inventory window. Enter WHS01<Tab> for the Warehouse. <Tab> to accept the current date as the Activity Date. Enter 60<Tab> for the Quantity. Enter 8.43<Tab> for the Cost. We paid the manufacture 7.43/M and added 1.00/M to cover incoming freight and storage. When you are using the Xebra for everything, the Reference field will be filled in with the job number of the job that created the inventory activity. In this case, we don’t have an associated job. Enter Forward<Tab> for the Reference. Select the OK button to close the window. Notice that the Inventory window now displays a balance on hand of 60 M and we see the item that details our beginning balance. If you are entering balances from a list, you would continue to select items and enter the balance for each of them. For now, just close the Inventory window. |
