While it is always important that product records be as complete as possible, it becomes even more so when those records are going to be used in E-Commerce. All fields and options should be reviewed and completed as appropriate, with special attention paid to the following. Customer – In most cases, if product is being made available on a customer branded site, a unique item record is created to represent that product as specific to the customer. In these cases, a customer code should be entered in the Customer field. When an item is not customer specific in any way, this field should be left empty. Packing Information – This information is always important but becomes especially so when using the item in E-Commerce. Be sure this area is complete and accurate, no matter how simple the packing may be. Image – While there is only a single image option on the main item record, once you beginning working with an item in E-Commerce there will be two image options available: small and large. Any image loaded in the main item record will be carried over to both the small and large image options in E-Commerce. While this is not necessary, it is more efficient than having to load separate images in E-Commerce.
