Through Manage Server Connections, you are provided the ability to monitor and maintain access to your Xebra. Uses will vary but ultimately you will have complete control over who is accessing your system and from where.

The list box viewed in the main dialog shows the total number of available connections. Those not currently in use will be shown with a status of “Awaiting Connection”. Those active will have the status of “Connected”. Additional information provided for each connection will be as follows:

Operator – The Operator Code used to establish the connection followed by the complete name of the operator.

Connected Since – The data and time the operator’s current session was initiated.

Connected From – The IP location from where the operator has connected. Their workstation.

Sent – The amount of data in Bytes transmitted from the Xebra server to the operator’s client.

Received – The amount of data in Bytes transmitted from the operator’s client to the Xebra server.

Connected On – Represents the Server IP and Port the operator has connected to. This should be the same for all operators logged in.

In addition to viewing the current connections from the main dialog, tools available through the menus allow for management of these connections.

oBlacklist – The Blacklist is used to combat against unauthorized access to your Xebra server. This option is used in two ways.

Automatic – Once 20 bad connections have been attempted by an IP Address, this address is added to the blacklist and no further connection attempts will be allowed.

Manual – Using the Add to Blacklist option, you may manually enter an IP Address you feel should be prevented from accessing the Xebra Server at any time.

A blacklisted IP Address can also be removed from the list by simply double-clicking the address located in the Blacklist list box.

Potential Bad Connections will represent all IP Addresses in danger of being blacklisted and the number of failed attempts for each.

You are also provided a list box of all current Active Locations.

Finally, you do have the ability to Disable this Blacklist Protection but this is highly cautioned against. This Blacklist should never effect ongoing access from authorized locations and is meant to be an ultimate security feature in protecting your system and you data.

oRefresh – Refreshes the main dialog to reflect the most current connections.

Commands

oSend Message – Enables Xebra Messaging. Using messages, you can communicate directly with operators currently connected.
