To enter an order from your customer for stock stored in general inventory, you create a new job.
1. When you create a job to release stock from your warehouse, you choose 'Sale from Stock' for the Job Type.
2. For the customer, you enter the customer that is placing the order. In this case, the customer is a fictitious company named ABC Plumbing Company.
The 'Sale from Stock' job type triggers Xebra to switch to a procedure called Supply Order Entry that allows efficient entry of sale from stock items. Below is the Line Item entry window of Supply Order Entry.
Once you finish entering the items on the order, you can print a packing slip document.
1. You can optionally print a shipment ID and corresponding Code 3 of 9 bar code representation of the shipment ID. This could be used in your warehouse for identifying shipments for processing by your shipping software. Within the Xebra Document Editor, you can choose to represent any alphanumeric text data field as a Code 3 of 9 (Code 39) bar code.
1. With an order placed but not yet shipped to the customer, the Inventory window shows the quantity on order and the available quantity decreased by the quantity on order.
2. The On Order window comes up when you click the On Order button on the Inventory window. The On Order window lists the jobs with orders pending.
1. Once the sale from stock job is processed and the item(s) are shipped to the customer, the Inventory window no longer shows any quantity On Order and Available matches the Quantity On Hand.
2. The Activity window displays transaction detail for a lot stored in a warehouse. In this example, the activity shows that the warehouse balance was increased by 100 on 4/26/06 and then decreased by 2 on 4/28/06.
