After posting all transactions from an accounting period, accountants prepare a trial balance to verify that the total of all accounts with debit balances equals the total of all accounts with credit balances. The trial balance lists every open general ledger account by account number and provides separate debit and credit columns for entering account balances.
For the Xebra Trial Balance, a specific Period or transaction within a given year must be selected.
• | Specific period - The report will show the debit and credit activity for the specific period only. Beginning and ending balances are included. |
• | Beginning balances - The report shows only the beginning balances for the designated year. |
• | Year end adjustments - The report shows the unadjusted year end balances as the "Beginning Balance" along with the adjusting debits and credits to arrive at the adjusted year end balance. This adjusted year end balance will become the beginning balance of the next period. |
• | Hide debits and credits - removes the Debits, Credits, and Transaction Source columns from the report so that each account will always fit on one line. |
• | Export - causes the report to generate a .csv file instead of a printable report document. |
