End User Accessability

There are multiple ways in which an end user may access their E-Commerce store. The following are the most frequently used methods.

Standard Access – This is the default method. The end user is provided the IP address which directs them to the standard login page. Once there, the end user enters their pre-established user name and password to access the store.
Distributor Site Access
Link – The end user is directed to the distributor’s site where they will find a tab/button/link that will redirect them to the standard login page. Once there, the end user enters their pre-established user name and password to access the store.
Login Area – In some cases, the distributor creates a login area within their own site where the end user can enter their credentials and be logged directly into their store, bypassing the standard login page. While our tech support staff can provide you sample code for the creation of this log in area, it will be your responsibility to add the area to your website or to have someone else do it for you.
End User Site (or Intranet) Access
Link – The end user installs a tab/button/link within their own site or intranet that will redirect them to the standard login page. Once there, the end user enters their pre-established user name and password to access the store.
Login Area – The end user creates a login area within their own site where their staff can enter their credentials and be logged directly into their store, bypassing the standard login page. While our tech support staff can provide you sample code for the creation of this login area, which you can then provide your client, it will ultimately be their responsibility to put that code in place and maintain it.
Public Access – It is possible to allow access to a store without first having the end user log in. In this case, our tech support staff can provide you the necessary link, which you will then put in place according to how you wish the end user to access the store. When access is given in this manor, no log in is required to view product; however, it may be needed to place orders, review history, or access reports. One key in setting up a public access store is to create a web user profile with no Real Name or Email associated with it. This triggers the end user to log in or create a new account before actually placing an order for product.
Link (distributor or end user) – A tab/button/link is placed on the distributor site or the end user site or intranet.
Direct URL – A specific domain is created and then redirects to the “open” store. While the end user may enter the domain name in the address bar of their browser to initially access the store, once they are redirected the URL will change to that of the store itself. NOTE: At times, distributors have requested these “vanity” URLs remain in place after the end user is redirected into the store. While this may be possible, multiple factors must be taken into account and should be discussed with Xetex tech support.
No log in required – If you wish for the store to be completely open; requiring no log in to place an order, there will be steps that must be taken by our development staff. It is important to be mindful during setup that the store, or at least a web user within the store, will be used by the general public. Options such as access to settings, reports, order history should all be restricted as you likely will not want a single user to view or affect activity for all users accessing the store.
